not only is this song an absolute banger but the video is just incredible. m.i.a. and romain gavras work together to portray a gangsters paradise; guns, cars, and women. but with a special m.i.a. twist, the video is set in an arabian desert, sparking off a protest of gender equality and social boredom in places that still don't allow women to drive and create phenomenons such as 'sandal skating' (seen in the video). though not as controversial as her last collaboration with gavras (remember 'born free'? holy fuck...), it still beautifully juxtaposes the gritty reality of ethnic profiling with insane visuals and costume design.
if i could make a music video half as good as this, i'd be pretty damn impressed with myself.
